This risk calculator predicts the risk of mortality, cardiac, and respiratory complications following aseptic revision total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA). It was created utilizing the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database, with data from over 30,000 patients included in the model. The C-statistics are 0.88, 0.80, and 0.78 for the mortality, cardiac, and respiratory complications, respectively. This tool could be used prospectively to identify opportunities for patient optimization pre-operatively and guide risk assessment.
